LIFX is an innovative smart lighting brand that has a unique take on the lighting market. With employees spread across the world, the goal of LIFX is to take a basic need (light) and make it life-changing. LIFX products include devices that improve your health, and help you work, play and rest.
LIFX has successfully earned a reputation as one of the top smart lighting producers in the USA, and digitalPR’s goal was to achieve the same results in the Nordics. This task required promoting the entire LIFX portfolio and ensuring that consumers understood its unique position in the smart lighting landscape. This was a substantial challenge, considering that incumbent lighting brands have continued to dominate the Nordic market for many years.
Most smart lighting brands focus on features and are seen as ‘gadgets’, but the goal of LIFX is to take light and make it life-changing. As such, digitalPR formed a strategy that was symbiotic with LIFX’s brand values, and that focused on the unique selling points of the products and how they help consumers to personalize their spaces at the touch of a button.
With no new product launches to catapult the PR effort, our strategy focused on creative methods of gaining media and consumer awareness.
This includes engaging key influencers and using seasonal events as a springboard to achieve coverage in the all-important lifestyle and news media publications.
Thanks to our in-house technology expertise and other high-tech clients, we were also able to piggy-back on reviews and stories for other clients in the IOT space, including NETGEAR, Bowers and Wilkins and BenQ. This provided many more opportunities for coverage than would otherwise have been possible.
